After studying at the Royal College of Art, Peek became very interested in how light could change the way his artwork looked. He used light to make his photos look more like paintings, giving them a new texture and feel. Many of his projects focus on feelings of loneliness and isolation, which is something he often explores in his work. When you look at his photographs, you can sense a deep sadness or quiet emotion. He often captures natural flowers in a way that makes them seem frozen in time, showing their delicate beauty. Whether his photos are black and white or in color, they all have this melancholic and raw feeling that invites the viewer to think about the emotions behind the images.
